Hey there, I'm André!
I'm an ML engineer based in Porto, Portugal. Although my background is in Economics, I've found my true passion in solving ML problems, mostly using voice and text. Currently, I spend most of my time as an ML Engineer at amplemarket, building next-generation AI products for modern go-to-market teams. Before that, I worked at defined.ai, also as an ML Engineer, and earlier in my career, I was a Business Analyst at PwC, a global management consultancy.
I hold a Master's degree in Modeling, Data Analysis and Decision Support Systems from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Porto (FEP), where I also took my Bachelor's in Economics. During my master's, I collaborated with defined.ai on my thesis project exploring the "Impact of Vocal Traits Distribution on Speech Applications' Performance and Bias".
Throughout my career, I've found myself drawn to interesting problems where machine learning meets practical applications. I genuinely enjoy working with voice technology and natural language processing, and find it fascinating to develop AI systems that can meaningfully interact through text and speech in ways that feel natural.
